The club will once again be participating in the annual WAUSSAUK photography competition. This is the 2nd year for Charlotte Camera Club, and this year we are the host club. Last year we placed 1st and hope to do just as well this year.

WAUSSAUK is a friendly, international competition between four club on four different continents. No prizes are awarded, but a PowerPoint of all the images with the scores will be created and shared with all clubs.

There are four clubs participating in this international salon. We call it a salon as there are no prizes given

Here are the Rules and Guidelines agreed to by the three other clubs:
  1. The theme will be “Open”.
  2. A maximum of two images per photographer can be submitted.
  3. There will be two categories for 2021:
    • Color
    • B/W
      Landing a Punch
  4. All four clubs will enter a total of 25 images each.
  5. It does not matter how many photos are entered in the Color category or the B/W category, as long as the total number of images submitted by each club does not exceed 25.
  6. There will be scoring for the Color category and scoring for the B/W category.
  7. The scores will be combined to get the final scores to determine the overall winning club.
  8. The images must not have been submitted to a past WAUSSAUK competition.
  9. There are no restrictions on the age of the images.
  10. The dimensions of each image may not exceed 1920 pixels in width and 1080 pixels in height.
  11. The file size of each image file may not exceed 2MB.
  12. Images must be in .JPG format
  13. The file name must be in the format: Category-Club Name-Image Title-Photographer Name.jpg (with dashes between category, club name, title and photographer, and spaces between words.)
    Example: BW-Charlotte Camera Club-My Photo-Lorraine Shannon
 The images must be shared as a group from each club’s competition leader via Dropbox by March 1, 2021.

Morning Glory
The Charlotte Camera Club will process the images on March 2, 2021 and provide web links to the judges. Three independent (and external to the Host club) judges will score each image. The results will be emailed to all the clubs on March 31, 2021

Recognition Certificates

Based on the scores provided by the judges certificates will be prepared for the following categories:
  1. Color Category Winning Club
  2. B/W Category Winning Club
  3. The Overall Winning Club
  4. The Top Three Images in the Color Category
  5. The Top Three Images in the B/W Category.
The four clubs will receive:
  • paper certificates
  • electronic copies of the certificates
  • the final score sheet
  • a PowerPoint of all of the images which can be shown or shared with club members.
